Passed AWS Solution Architect - Associate Exam

It has been while I wrote any post but recently I cleared my first Cloud Certification(Yipeee) from Amazon , so thought of sharing my experience with larger community.

If you have heard about Cloud technology , You might be aware about Amazon , Google , Microsoft etc. These are all biggest vendors of Cloud Technology. Many people might wonder What is Cloud Technology ?

Is it something storing in Cloud ? Well In simple words , You Store or Run your application in infrastructure which you really don't manage it. 

Earlier If I want to setup an IT company , I would be most worried about my Hardware cost , its place where my most of my money will go in and seriously friends it really needs big investment when you begin.

But now-a-days Cloud Technologies has really helped small scale industries to begin and scale your infrastructure as you grow. This is excellent.

Now I don't have to worry about my hardware cost , I can start something really small and scale out my infrastructure as my business grows.

Coming back to my Exam , If you are beginner and does not have any past experience , I would recommend you to go for AWS Cloud Practitioner first which bit easy. Since I had already worked on AWS in past therefore I chose AWS Solution Architect - Associate.

Start Preparation

I took around 3 months to complete my preparation along with some practice test. I used course from Udemy delivered by Stephane Maarek. I found course very helpful and easy to understand.

Schedule Exam

Once you are confident enough , schedule your exam either on exam centre  or you can also appear it from home if you have proper resources.

I have been struggling from couple of days to get my jdbc hive connection working using Zookeeper URI and after putting lot of effort finally I realised problem. In this post I will sharing my experience  and steps I took to rectify problem. Notes : I am having a HDP 2.6 sandbox along with my JDBC program . Use case : Many companies does not provide HiveServer2 url for configuring your JDBC string and its important because if your hiveserver goes down  , your whole job will abort (You will be missing Hive HA capabilities). So How do I dynamically determine second Hive Server URI ? Solution is to use Zookeeper Service Discovery feature. Zookeepers keeps all HiveServer 2 URI into its namespace. When client tries to make a connection to Hive , Zookeeper will look for available hive server and return URL to client program. Apache Nifi was developed to automate the flow of data between different systems. Apache NiFi is based on technology previously called “Niagara Files” that was in development and used at scale within the NSA for the last 8 years and was made available to the Apache Software Foundation through the NSA Technology Transfer Program. Nifi is based on FlowFiles which are heart of it. A FlowFile is a data record, which consists of a pointer to its content (payload) and attributes to support the content, that is associated with one or more provenance events. The attributes are key/value pairs that act as the metadata for the FlowFile, such as the FlowFile filename. The content is the actual data or the payload of the file.
